Thanks to all the players, coaches, officials, parents, fans, staff, vendors and sponsors who helped make The Match a success. The event featured 140 student-athletes (2017, 2016, 2015 graduation years), representing nine states. Over twenty Division III college coaches came to see our prospects present themselves the context of a slightly different and certainly more participatory and intimate showcase format.

The feedback from the college coaches in attendance was very positive, both with regard to the level of play and the format, which gave them a chance to see all our participants on offense, on defense, in the goal and in transition in an efficient setting. We heard from a number of players and parents that they enjoyed the event as well and felt it was well worth the effort. We welcome your feedback and invite you to contact us with any comments, testimonials and/or suggestions. We are always looking for opportunities to improve the experience – please click Feedback.

We think the theme – “Focus on the Fit, Not the Frenzy,” resonated, and we hope it continues to do so in this fast-paced and frenetic world of early recruiting and widely held views that Division I lacrosse is the Holy Grail to the exclusion of other options. Please remember that there are so many great opportunities for prospective lacrosse players to find happiness as students and athletes at top notch Division III schools, and the level of lacrosse at the Division III level is truly outstanding.

Based on recommendations and input from the coaches/clinicians who coached the teams in the full field Match-Ups and managed the 7v7 games, we have selected two “All-Match teams (see All Match). Congratulations to the players who were recognized among a very large group of talented individuals. So many players acquitted themselves well in the competition over the course of the day. We and the coaches were very impressed with the quality of all participants and thank all our players for coming to The Match ready to Light It Up!

DVDs/HIGHLIGHT FILM: You can still obtain DVDs and/or Highlight Films from Schaf’s Video Productions, which captured high quality video footage of every game on every field during the event, including all 7v7 full-field games. This may be a great opportunity to obtain meaningful film footage and, if you are interested, highlight films, since the format was designed to optimize each player’s participation and the chance to showcase his skills. We saw so many great goals, looks, feeds, ground balls, checks, saves… No doubt the game footage is rich with content. For more information, click here – http://www.matchlax.com/video/.

NOTES OF APPRECIATION: As always, a special note of thanks to our clinicians, who started us out with specialized positional instruction, including Adam Mueller, Offensive Coach of the US Men’s Indoor Lacrosse Team, and Dave Stilley, former Duke All-American and MLL All-Star defenseman. We hope you enjoyed the instruction. We are grateful to Dave Webster (Dickinson Head Coach) and Jeff Fritz (Assistant Coach at Williams) for their advice, insights and words of wisdom regarding recruiting and the Division III value proposition during our lunch break, and to our other coaches and officials, who helped us manage the games in a safe and efficient manner. And a special note of thanks too to The Hill School, for permitting us to use its wonderful Far Fields Complex for the event.

FINALLY, AGAIN, A HEARTFELT “THANK YOU” TO ALL PLAYERS FOR PARTICIPATING WITH GREAT EFFORT, HEART AND ENTHUSIASM IN OUR SECOND ANNUAL EVENT! WE WISH ALL OF YOU WELL, AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTINUE FOCUSING ON THE FIT IN YOUR COLLEGE SEARCH.
